Degree: Class of 2007 M.Ed. Education Leadership

Current Role: Business Immigration Supervisor at Fragomen

Why did you choose UNLV? What led you to pursue a degree in education/human services?

After completing my bachelor’s, I worked at UNLV in the international student office. As I was always at school, It would be a waste not to pursue a degree in higher education.

What is your current position, and how did UNLV prepare you for your career?

I’m currently a Business Immigration Supervisor for Fragomen. I oversee the permanent residents and green card holders for clients and employees.

I knew immigration issues was my calling, but I was just unsure if I wanted to take the higher education approach or the corporate role.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were a student?

Grades are not everything. Yes, academics are important, but UNLV is also about enjoying the experience and fostering relationships. Enjoy the experience because it goes by so quickly.

Why should alumni stay engaged at UNLV?

It’s a great way to keep up with other alumni! I love reading their highlights and seeing how others who had similar experiences are doing.

It’s also a great way to catch up with old friends/colleagues.

Are you a COE alum? Let us know what you’ve got going on by submitting a Class Note or getting involved!
